Since I am currently on a weight loss diet, I am seeing some parallels. Two pieces of advice they give are to eat healthy foods and use a smaller plate. I tend to consume similar news sources as you do, but I am having portion control issues (about 30 New York Times articles a day! I'm stuffed!). And your point is well taken that we should avoid consuming food for thought for emotional reasons instead of nuitrition.
